*What You'll Do:*
The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for working with all departments to maintain general plant expenses, purchasing supplies, accounts payables, routine reporting, data entry, and general administrative tasks.
They will also gain experience working with the Plant Controller to perform tasks related to accounts payable, budget, month end, and year end reconciliations.
Candidates should have a drive to reduce costs, an interest in finance, and be able to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
*Responsibilities & Duties:*
* Create purchase orders for general plant expenses and be a secondary buyer for department level spend.
* Manage & maintain purchase orders; timely closeout & reconciliation, on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.
* Superuser role for vendor management and onboarding.
* Work with suppliers that come onsite to ensure facility supplies and equipment are well maintained, vending and canteen, printer, etc.
* Manage the employee uniform, shoe, and prescriptive eyewear programs.
* Assist with employee events; actively involved in event planning, acquire quotes & manage payment.
* Manage courier activities, plant mailbox & administer mail accordingly.
* Develop key relationships with internal & external partners through excellent verbal & written communication skills.
* Executes weekly reporting as needed.
* Supports onsite materials and planning by backfilling as needed.
* Align with Distribution to ensure Allergen & Food Safety compliance.
* Lead & participate on internal/external project teams.
* Provide inventory information as necessary for meetings.
* Working knowledge of Albany’s defined business system of all the procedures and associated materials that relate to this position.
* Must demonstrate leadership skills and behavior to work effectively in a team.
* Perform Monthly Performance Monitoring.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager.
*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Prior purchasing, AP/AR, or finance/accounting experience is preferred.
* Prior knowledge or experience with SAP is preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
